Hey guys, first off im a newb! I'm 18, ridden motorcycles most of my life and decided that now joining the RAF to become a pilot a car would be more practical for the weekends home!

I have a 2003 (Mk3) Fiat Punto Sporting 3dr with the 1.4 engine. And well i love the car (except for the Engine Failure Warning - sensor failure im fixing somewhere), and the pants bass sound.

The car came with the Blaupunkt CD player (plays Mp3 cd's i think) and the 6 speaker sound system 2tweet, 2 front, 2 rear. The sound is crisp and clear however there is absolutely NO BASS. Im not into bursting my ear drums but i like to be able to feel abit of bass when im driving around with some good tracks on.

So my question is, would the 100W factory sub (that didn't come in the car) do the job for me - i think it would as im not asking for alot just to feel abit more bass than the stock sound system can put out. If this is the case where can i buy a Factory SUB? I've searched the internet but probably are looking in the wrong places.... I would really appreciate any help or advice, especially if you know where i could buy one or if you have one for sale for the Mk3 punto.

Thanks in advance! Kaz!

the factory subs aren't bad for such a small speaker and amp there only 100w peak output, but if your not into taking your car apart to fit a new hu and all the wireing for an amp and sub then there great.
check if you have the wires already in you car they should be on the passenger side behind the carpet

Ok, il have to have a look in the light tomorrow. What exactly am i looking for, just some loose wires...under the carpet passenger side in the boot?

Also where can i find a factory sub woofer?

Cheers for the help so far!

Go on ebay cause there's usually some little punto subs on there!!

You can spend less than £100 and get a descent NEW amp/sub package though! Go to motor-world.co.uk and they've got a package for £69.99 for a sub nd amp inc wires!! (FREE P&P too!!!)

This will provide plenty of bass, unless you really wanna pump it out nd then you'd have to spend quite a bit more though.

Hope i've been of help! :)

I can't see the one your pointing at....

Im not looking for tonnes of base but i use my car for practical things as well so having a heft sub box in the boot means i loose aload of room.... i mean i'll spend the extra money for an aftermarket sub if a fiat one would be pants... Seems like they designed the sound system so you had to purchase the factory sub if you wanted any base at all!

if your not looking for that much like you say, the 100W Fiat one should be fine, and you can run it off the factory head unit without an amp.

my fiat punto mk2 came with exactly the same set up as yours but also the sub aswell..

i was very impressed when i heard the bass coming from such a small sub.

it is also very goo as it fits over the rear wheel arch, taking up no space at all.

there are always some on ebay so have a look!
