hey people,

ive got to replace the clutch in my punto 60s '99, and ive been quoted around 200-300 for parts an labour, jus wanna know if ne1 knows this is a good price? the guy was telling me he needs to pull the engine completly out because of the way the cars are designed and remove the transmittion to get to it.. im kinda thinking i should replace the gearbox at the same time so the labour is cut down if this is the case.

jus dont wanna be ripped off :)

thanks guys

I went to Mr Clutch and they did it for £175 inc parts and labour. (London)
Nationwide Autocentre quoted me about 4 trillion pounds, so I'm never going there again.

cheers for that, i emailed Mr. clutch for a quote in northampton an will cost £199 with them. will ring around an see what else i can find.

i changed the clutch on my old uno years ago an the clutch was only £20 an with a family freind did it in 2 hours with no problems. might see if i can track him down again!

o dear... lol

maybe i wont go to them, ne1 got ne recommendations then?

the rattling is gettin worse whenever my foot is engaged on the clutch and im quite worried its just gunna go!

thanks guys

right ive gone with a local clutch and brake garage ive found gettin it all done for £180 an he gunna do a brake check as well.

sorted i guess!

apparently the rattling of ballbearing is very bad, as they could rupture through any day soon lol.

there goes 180 of styling money!
