Warning Lights

I have a Punto 2002 1.2 8V. I have a problem, I was hoping you guys could help shed some light..? I used my horn today, just a beep beep to say hello to a friend then a light came on the dials On closer inspection to my manual it is the Airbag Warning Light Has this ever happened to anyone else? Is there an easy fix?

Nathan,

Re: Warning Lights

Only connection I can see between the two (airbag/horn) is the 'clockspring' contacts behind the stering wheel.

Advise to get garage to look at it with suitable equipment.

Re: Warning Lights

The thing is, the airbag is the horn on my Punto. You push the airbag to use the horn. Could it not be something to do with that? Like tripping the airbag because of pressing the horn?

Thanks, Nathan.

Re: Warning Lights

Yes they both 'share' the clockpring contacts...either way get it checked out properly.I cant stress enough the importance of safety when working on/near airbags.
