Hi, i have a 1.2 punto 8v (2002).. At random times it will just cut out, all dashboard lights stay on, and the battery light comes on. it doesnt happen regular, it hasnt done it for weeks. My air filter on the induction kit works loose and each time its cut out, when ive checked under the bonnet the air filter has either been off or just about to fall off!.. Could that be the reason? Im no mechanic but surely if a car's air filter is off it must suck in all sorts of rubbish!.. Help would be much appreciated!!!

well the air filters there to filter the crap out of the air if its loose n just about to fall off and theres a big enough hole crap will get in and get everywhere
make sure you have the correct air filter for your car and make sure u tighten it up regular

Aint healthy for the engine that, i would start with getting something that will hold your filter tighter on and then see how it gos.
