just people's opinions of them really. they are mounted on the the bottom sill of the bumper. i'll post some more pics.

you can get them in halfords for £25 but i ebayed it for £15

and yeah i agree with the lights being different colours. im going to change the bulbs in the headlights for whiter more expensive ones.

what sort of bulbs do i need. is it xenon bulbs that would do the trick?

as for fitting them in the bumper they will fit in the slots above the number plate on a mk2 punto but obviously this restricts air flow and looks abit rubbish. they will also fit in the slanted mesh slots lower down the bumper with some adjustment. really easy to fit and wire in though.

It's supposed to be illegal to drive with fog lights showing when it isn't foggy yet every other car seems to do it. About time plod started giving these idiots a tug. Also, additional lighting can be a distraction to other road users so should warrant a tug.
Any car in front of me with their rear fogs on will have my full beam constantly in their rear view.
Using fogs on a clear night doesn't improve visability for the driver, it just annoys other drivers & makes you look like a delinquent chavvy tw@t who can't even wire in a set of fogs properly - they should only come on with sidelights & turn off when main beam is on, there should also be a warning light on the dash to show that these are switched on.
Why not go the whole hog & get a set of 'night rider' lights :-D

FIAT dont do this! Neither do Volvo, landrover. And i'm sure they're not alone.

But agree driving around on clear nights with fogs is:
a)pointless for visability sake
b)annoying
c)likely to get you a £30 on the spot fine

Theres no doubt it makes the car look a bit better on some cars, and thats why folks do it, aftermarket ones rarely look good unless alot of thought has went into them so they look like they came with the car.

IIRC these are not Fog lamps but LED running lamps/ position lamps As per what is fitted on a HGV/ motorhomes...... and they are "E" marked as such so long as teh are mounted correctly they are legal to be used all the time as per side lights

Yea i guess so, however the plod might not see it like that, and can easily use it as an excuse to pull you and inspect everything about you and your car.

then again if you've nothing to hide you've nothing to worry about after all plod will/should be aware of the law local panda drivers will just be left confused to the point of trying to get rid of you if you start quoting chapter and verse the road vehicle lighting regulations (trust me ive had it riding a push bike with a HID front light :p )

I also have a pet hate of foglights when there is no fog even vaguely insight. but i'd like to point out they are not fog lights and have no where near the same intensity as fog lights. they're bright enough to be seen. but not bright enough to dazzle other drivers. they essentially act as sidelights. i also have them aimed slightly lower than the recommendation, just to make sure!

anyone seen a similar thing on the new audis? they are designed as fog lights and are insanely bright, yet anyone who has them seems to have them on. they are on the new R8 and the new audi A7 coupe. painful on the eyes.

On the new audis there LEDs and are DRL (daytime running lights)

And there designed to reduce accidents as a survey conducted by audi supposedly proved that DRL's will make the car more visible to other road users and reduce accidents by a certain percentage
