I've got a 6 month old Sporting and the only thing I don't like about it is the fact it sits really really high!

My question is this...Will it invalidate my 3 year warranty if I lower it using third party parts?
If so, is the HGT suspension setup lower than the Sporting set up?
Are there Abarth lowering springs that Fiat could fit and keep the warranty valid?

Comments appreciated!

Alex.

I think the HGT and sporting use the same suspension parts. Your best off waitin till the year is up and then doing it. http://www.tuning.co.uk/fiatshop/ <--- Probally the best place to get the springs.

Yer, you are best off waiting, but I think if you read the warrenty if would only affect parts directly releated.

As in if a shock went you would be liable for it's replacement, however if you blew up the gear box then you're ok as it's not related.

I have got an induction kit on mine and they didn't seemed bothered when I was there complaining about other stuff.

Punto MK2 Sporting 16v, Full Abarth Bodykit + Alloys.

Go for it fella!

Shocks will be ok (unless of course you go for mad low springs without appropriate new shocks).

Warranties suck. And as sh33n said, if it's not directly related they'll still honour any other issues.

I'm gonna do mine shortly (the active sport sits SO high!!!). Need some tips really, got the Gmax springs, don't require shock upgrade as it's only a bit lower (probably to about the sporting/hgt level).

So if anyone's done 'em, let me know.

I've got a jack, axle stands and a haynes manual. Just need some of those spring clamp things now...

In fact - time for a post in the Tech section.

the first front spring will probably take ages to do, but then the others will be pretty easy.

u can hire the spring compressors from a local tool hire place

It's a damn 3 year warranty!!

It makes sense if the warranty will still be valid for non-related items...I'm off down the dealer tomorrow so I'll ask.

i would say no aslong as you get your services at the correct times unless its something daft like "my gearbox blew up because of me turbo conversion" :D

uno 1.0ie RAAAWW!
