not really a punto specific problem i think, but wasnt sure where else to post. any ideas?

i have a standard fiat stereo fitted to my 97P punto 60S and my stereo LCD display has faded, so it is very difficult to tell what channel it is on.

it started to fade a long time ago, but then came back quite soon after. it then faded again not long afterwards, now i think it is gone for good.

if it is sunny and you look at the display from the right angle then you can actually see what numbers are displayed.

my guess - i think problems like this are usually caused by damp. my heater matrix did go not so long ago, but this was long after my stereo display went, i am not sure if these are related.

any clues?

what caused the problem?

can it be repaired?

Q1. no clue,
Q2. old age most likly.
Q3. yes but would probly be more economical too buy a new head unit.
thats just my opinion :D

the problem is only a blub behind the display it will cost £2.50 for the bulb and just soilder it on but you will have to go to a car radio shop so you can get the right bulb for your make of radio it is high wattage ??

i had the same problem
