My car is a Punto SX 75 (Mk1) and here is an oil leak!! My regular garage mechanic checked and said the leak could be from the A/c compressor and for me to take the car to an A/c repair shop how ever the A/c technician says that it can’t be the compressor because the A/c gas hasn’t reduced !!! Dose the A/c Gas reduce if there is a oil leak from the compressor ??? PL help because there are only about 20 Punto’s in the country (Sri Lanka) and very few people know how to repair them

Where is the oil leak coming from?

If the leak is coming from the ends of the rocker cover (the top part of the engine, under the airbox) then that's fairly minor, and usual 1.2 stuff. There are 4 bolts holding the rocker cover in place and a rubber gasket underneath.

You just need to remove the airbox and rocker cover and replace the rubber gasket with a new one. Use some gasket sealant on the top face of the block, as it's smooth. It'll help the new gasket to seal for longer.

you need black silicone at the corners were it turns and goes over the cam shaft cap as they leak at the corners if you don't due to the sharp corner the gasket has to take

this is were fiat put glue on them in the factory so might as well copy they wouldn't do it if it wasn't necessary

I think the oil is power steering!! Because the oil level in the reservoir has reduced considerably. How can I fixit/find where it’s leaking from ??? PL HELP!!

first you need to get it to a hot car wash and clean up as much of the oil as you can then top up the reservoir and that will give you a much better idea were the oil is leaking from leave the engine running when you clean it or you may find it wont run afterwards

also avoid squirting coils spark plug leads and any electrical connectors to much

give it a good drive after it's wash to make sure everything is dry again

have you got any pictures of your engine bay to give us a better idea of were it's coming from
