I'm startin a supercharger project on my 1.6 stilo, got most of the bits (charger, cooler, mounts etc etc) So lemme kno how it goes if u choose to go supercharged!

I know this may be an old thread but just thought i,d liven it up and mention there is a turbo and manifold kit avaliable for the Hgt in the classifieds should anyone be interested.

What about fitting an Alfa 2.0TS twin variator type. The HGT is basically the same block. That would only need a low blow turbo to give 200bhp so wont need all the costly engineering to beef up the engine.

Note that the 1.8 engine in the HGT is a younger brother of the 2 litre Alfa lump as used in the later 155s. Might give you a few more options, people to talk to, etc.

You have to live in hope, but I doubt very much that the HGT box is anything like as tough as the Coupe 16v Turbo one, which is, in essence, the Delta Integrale box, which has extensive re-inforcing plates. Still, the rotrex will put much less strain on the box (and the entire drivetrain) than a positive displacement blower.

HGT uses the Alfa gearbox so while not up to Delta Integrale standards its not rubbish either.

If you're using a 2 litre 16v turbo engine, I'd retain the turbo.

It'll be cheaper than the Rotrex (the Mini Eaton simply won't be big enough).
