General Rear Windscreen Wiper Not Working

just try powering it and if it dosent move it's the motor check your fuses first thou

from memory the wires at the motor i think it goes red permanent live well (ignition live actualy)
orange swiched live from the swich on the stork
and earth

there may be a fault with the contacts from the boot to the car
if you lookaround your boot hach you will see some metal plungers and contacts these can corode and cause a bad conection leading to the plastic mount melting the power for the wipers goes thru these i believe
if you want i will go have a look at mine for a more exsact answer to wich wires you want to be testing or powering to test the motor

Yeah that would be great cheers for that mate, the more info the better

I think once we know the right wires and how to test we could isolate the problem to either the motor or the wiring \ connections...

Thanks for the info, tried with the boot down and new motor in place and it worked so the wiring is fine, just a seized motor.

Annoyingly enough though, altho being the same part number the motor splines are different, plastic fitting that goes to the outside is a diff shape on the new motor :bang:

Not going another 50-odd miles to get the other part of the motor so it's file and bodge time to get it to fit thru the current plastic housing

Think it was off a 5-door, it's the same part code as the other but slightly different

Doesn't matter now anyway, cut a bit of the plastic sleeve off et voila it fits, nothing like a good bodge :D
