can anyone help me and tell me how to get the standard head unit out of a 2000 x reg punto mia as i have a new cd head unit i want to put in. thanks.

You just need the standard two-pronged keys to remove it. There are two holes either end of the front and the tools that go in them are like allen keys with little balls on the end of them.

You can get them at Halfords or ask to borrow theirs if you only want to do it once, or some people have got it out poking cocktail sticks in.

hi there, on the front of the stereo you should see 4 small holes. you need a stereo removal tool that pushes into them to release the locks and pull it out. you can get em from most car stereo places cheap or even halfords i think. have heard some people have made sum but never tried. dont forget you will need a adaptor plate (£10) to go behind your new aftermarket stereo. and there is a small multi colored block of wires that probably wont have anywere to fit into your new stereo (unless its a blaupunkt) you have to leave these hanging loose they arnt required.
