Hello,... hope you might know what's this all about

My Punto has been crashed and ever since it got repaired I hear this annoying sound that appears in the cabin whenever i accelerate from the still position, no sound while driving though. It's water for sure but I can't locate it. It's hard to explain the sound,... it's like you would have a bottle half filled with water and you would turn the bottle upside-down to create a sound of water crashing a bottle wall. Hope you know what i mean... At the Fiat garage they had no clue? Much to say about the garage...

I also have the problem with warning lights... they keep shining into my eyes saying "dead light, do change" ... but they function normally. wtf?

I'm #1, so why try harder?

I get a whoosing sound on driving off sometimes after leaving the car standing still. I haven't recorded the ammount of rain that would have collected beforehand, and since nothing has gone wrong in over 3 years I think it must be a rain water valve opening. Of course your sound is probably going ot be from somewhere completly different and more frequent - mine is only once when starting to move...

Punto Mk2 ELX 8v in Teseo Blue with the electric Sunroof and CD changer, doing 50mpg whilst passing down country lanes

I get a similar sort of sound from what you describe, but it's completely normal, think it's just related to the A/C or whatever pumping water around.

The sound of water you can hear I'm sure is coming from the heater matrix. Common noise after crash damage i.e replacement of radiator etc. It's caused by an air lock in the heater matrix, I would try and bleed the cooling system again. Pressure bleeding sorts the problem, there is a bleed screw on the top hose to from the matrix by the bulkhead have the heater on hot so it circulates.

Don't mean to alarm you but possible....

My wifes W reg Mk2 ELX 1.2 Punto made this sound after being parked overnight (a rush of water). Car then eventually started running worse and worse only for us to find out the head gasket had blown (after only 22,000 miles). We also got the bulb warning light flashing occasionally. Since repaired the sound/noise has gone.

Never thought to ask at Fiat dealer whether this noise was linked and maybe it was just a coincidence.

Run your car until the fan cuts in twice then raise the front of your car as high as you can SAFELY the bleed the air out, as previuosly mentioned it is air trapped in the heater matrix:D

Yeah does it in mine sometimes doesnt bother me [^] cant be arsed to bleed the air off I know what a Pain it is with a Computer watercooling system [xx(]

read Sprint Blue's post above thats what happens when you leave an airlock in the system, how ever i would not bleed like above, i would drain the whole system and start again.
