What size of alloys are you wanting, if your wanting 17's on a 1.2 it will slow you down, there for show only it will handle like a deathtrap to be honest, yeah mk2 alloys fit the mk1 i would go for the 15" ones.
15s look great on mk1s 
try fox racing, they id some nice 5-twin spoke ones that jordan had on his car, they suited it fine, though they are easily curbed

ive got a set for sale. 15 " wolfrace, no kerbs. good tyres allround £150
Got some 16" Stilo Abarth alloys if you are interested. Just need shot of them, a few cans of beer should do the trick Depending on if you want perfect they may need re-coating? Not sure of they will fit the Mk1 Punty but should look good if they do.

hey sorri this is abit l8 of a question but im just woundering y puttin 17s on will make it handle like a deathtrap just i was guna put sum 17s on mine and lower it. is dis bad ?

IMO on a mk1 14"s are the best, I'd go 13" if i wasn't upgrading brakes...
