Got back from a two week holiday on wednesday and the clutch was free and the hydrolic(sp) fluid tank was compleatly empty. Got my mechanic in and he said is was probably a leaking slave cylinder, put new fluid in and bled the cylinder. Everything worked fine.

Today i had a look and the level hasn't dropped, will it need to be replaced or has it fixed itself somehow?

Hi Edster, the fluid went somewhere to be sure!
Your mechanic should have checked and double checked, is the Master common to both brakes and clutch on the car?

You cant make a good call on parts swapping til u find out where the leak is, and I would say u got one... no white smoke from the engine indicating the fluid is being drawn into the engine via the servo vacuum?

Did your mechanic look for any leakage around the master slave cylinder? As the person said above, there is a leak some where it cant just fix itself, check other things like the break lines etc.. That could be where the fluid is leaking, also becarefull as the brakes share the same fluid reservoir so they may go spongey.
