(S) What do you reckon?

Hey everyone!

I've got an opinion wanting post - as if you havn't seen enough of these lol basically I want to spruce up my mk1 85sx (5 dr) r reg punto a bit. I am not thinking of "pimping" my punto or going as full out as a body kit etc I am just after simple and subtle changes which won't break the bank too much lol

I live in a - for lack of a better phase - chavvy area which already has its fair share of boy racers with load exhausts and bodykits, some are v. v. smexy others just look (and sound) like s**t so I'd rather mine didn't turn out like that. lol

I was thinking of keeping the original mk1 look, its got cc bumpers already which I think look fine, its a decent colour and in decent condition so I don't see why I should alter any of that, i was thinking along the lines of maybe changing/tinting the side repeaters, tinting the rear lights, maybe altering the front lights (looked at black angel eyes but decided there too expensive at the moment) or changing the front indicators etc.

Other ideas were maybe differnet wipers? (got standard ones at the mo), cc the door handles if this possible as the black (well faded grey) ones arn't particularly nice any other ideas would be helpful

Sounds like you are going along the right lines

I think with the 5 door subtle is always best route...in my opinion anyways

You can pick up sporting/gt side skirts they fit straight on...and don't cost much

Thanks Missy, yeah I agree subtle looks nice. The matching door handles on ur 5dr look good so I think thats something i definatly want to do.

Tinted rear lights is easy to do and should only cost you under £10, smoked repeaters same again very cheap and for the front clear indicators you should pick a cheap pair up from a local scrapyard, with cc handles check the guide section that will help you out with that and also cc the plastic boot handle and i guess the mirrors would be the same rules, if the 85sx is on the side wings of the car you can remove those, but the boot ones leave holes.

The colour coded mirrors, handles and tail gate light cover are standard on the elx

But I fitted the skirts, tinted rear lights and changed to black angels and smoked side repeaters...ive also done other bits...sprayed dash and put new gear knob on etc

That's not a decent colour......that's the bestest colour ever
I'd be inclined to get black angels, whire side repeaters, new gearknob...sporting/GT console (if you don't have the full console already), alloys, lowered....job done.

I spotted the cc guide, cheers for that, so one day (when its stopped raining grr! ) i might give it ago on something small (or somewhere you can't see, lol) to see how it turns out and if all goes well - which i doubt knowing my skills

I'm also planning a trip to the scrap yard this weekend to try and find some punto pieces rear window wiper mainly then anything else is a bonus so I'll keep my eyes peeled! Anyone know if it has to be a punto wiper/arm or is any alright? (if you look at the full pic you can sorta see how much rear wiper arm I have and what im missing. I've tried normal wipers on the back but couldn't get them to fit i think im missing an attachment maybe?)

the wiper arm is a whole piece...ya just flip up a little cover on the pivot and undo a bolt and it comes off.
