When I'm driving along and slow down the car cuts out but will restart again with no problems.

Only suggestions i could tell you to try would be clean the throttle body with carb cleaner, also try fuel injection cleaner in the tank or maybe it could be a faulty sensor like the tempature sensor, lambda sensor. The best way to pin point it would be to put it on the examiner, monitor the parameters & use oscilliscope function then when fault occurs it will be easy to find, but because it only happens once a month will be tricky.
