I recently made a post about removing the centre console on a mk2 punto. Well I got it off and all is good.
Apart from the reason I wanted to remove it of course!
The fan speed switch is broken. It ceased up and I forced it until it broke (silly me).
Well now I need a new one and I'm going to the scrap yard tomorrow to find a replacement.
Heres the problem...
The fan speed switch goes through the console via a shaft and connects to the mechanism. Unless this sheft is broken (like mine) I cant see how I'm going to be able to remove the console.
The switch handle thing itself cannot be removed, there is no bolt underneath unlike other models.
Any advice?
Heres a pic of the crappy under lubricated bearing which caused this mess and another of how the two things are broken apart...

centre consul has 2x4mm allen bolts at sides of centre tunnel & 2x4mm allen bults under the ashtray (in pocket bit) then pull off facia, remove switch by 2 small crosshead screws & renew....its easy(y)

So the new switch cost me £4 from the breakers yard, plus 30mins to complete, not bad eh?!
All I need to do now is fit a new Lambda sensor and reset the ecu (n)

When I change the sensor, will the engine warning light go out? or will the ecu need to be re-set?
