I have a 2005 punto dualogic multijet its done 43k miles and never had a problems until now, when I select a gear it is jumping into that gear and feels like its pulling with foot on brake?
The only way I can describe this to is when you have a manual clutch and you don't press it all the way in and then try to select a gear and you get that crunching sound.
Anyone experience this?

the release bearing may have failed.

Take to someone like mr clutch and get them to diagnose?

mr clutch are you mad wouldn't have the first clue about the fiat dualogic box and they don't have the diagnostics to fix your problem anyway

take it to fiat and they can do a clutch relearn procedure on it with the fiat examiner and all will be well again

basickly what your car has is the normal manual gearbox with a normal clutch only difference is its all run by hydraulic systems and the clutch an electric actuator how ether if the clutch wears faster than or slower than the ecu expects it can cause jerky or premature take ups which is what you describe

fiat are the only place that can do it I'm afraid

but for god sake don't let anyone but fiat mess with your gearbox

Its at the Fiat dealer now, they could not find anything on the examiner so they need to investigate more.

does it do it in all gears or just 5th etc

Its only when you try engage 1st or reverse, it got so bad today that it was grinding the cogs

Will this be covered by the 3rd year dealer warranty?

...because,it helps diagnosing the fault if 5th gear can be selected straight from neutral at idle.

The computer will not let you select any gear higher than second on the Dualogic, so going into 5th is impossible?
Thanks all for the advice will let you know the out come.
