Ok basicly guys, i was goig to re put some new oil and gear box oil in my engine, as its feeling abit sluggish, and could do with some fresh oil...

Was wondering how id do all 3 of these...

Engine Oil,

Gear Box oil,

Fan / Engine Coolant??? Unsure?

Brake fluid also, any way of getting it out and putting fresh in ?

Also maybe put a fresh oil filter on, and is this hard to do ?

Thanks :slayer: (y)

The oil sump plug is on the back of the sump...in an awkward spot. You need a sump plug remover or a 12mm hex socket (same thing really) they can be bought from ebay for a few quid.
Let the oil drain out in a suitable container...like a bowl, clean any crap from the thread of the sump plug and replace it.
The oil filter just unscrews...that's easy enough. Get your new oil filter and oil ready. Run a small amount round the rubber on the filter then screw it into place.
The engine oil is filled from the rubber cap located on the top of the rocker cover. Take off the air housing and you should see it.
Not 100% sure how much oil the 16v takes...the 1.2 8v takes 3.8l...so it'll either be 3.8l or 4.2l like the 1.6 sporting.

Never done gearbox oil myself...so can't help with that 1.

Engine coolant. The easiest way to drain this is to take the rad hose off and let it drain from there. Once it's empty refit the hose and start filling the coolant tank near the rad.
There are 2 bleed screws that you need to open up...these are to let air oput of the cooling system when you fill it. Once there is fluid coming from the bleed screws you can tighten them again and check that the level is below the max and above the min on the coolant tank.

Brake fluid is bloody nasty stuff though...avoid getting it on ANYTHING painted...and preferably avoid getting it on your skin if you can....gloves are a good idea.
