I have just replaced the gearbox on my mk1 Punto. So i had to take quite a few electrical bits off. As far as i know i have bolted them all back on... and connected them exactly as they were before.

Now whenever I connect the battery there is a loud ticking noise coming from the steering wheel (the noise comes from a little blue box that i found when i took the steering wheel off, I have also replaced this box). Also the car doesnt start, you can hear it trying to turn over... But NOTHING!

Any help would be appreciated!!!

have you checked the battery isn't flat or low, and welcome to the forum

does the code light come on and then go out when you put ya key in and turn ?

are you sure you didn't put 2 similar plugs in the wrong way round?
