right, i have a mark1 96 punto & wanted to upgrade brakes to take vented discs, so managed to get hold upgraded calipers 2nd hand.
cleaned up painted etc but theyre not direct fit. i now know theyre a hgt mk2
here is my question could i fit hubs from hgt mk2 cos i,ve new pads & spent a lot of time on these:( or do i source more calpers?
i hope this makes sense it,s a 75sx if that makes any difference.
any advice on which is the right course to take would be appreciated thanks:confused:

If I am brutally honest...I think the best course of action would be to get disks to fit your 75.
You would need disks of the correct size for the calipers. There would be little point in putting, for example, GT calipers on a 75 with OE disks.

^^^There is some disk options...included a Tarox upgrade for 6pot calipers with vented disks

^^^Halfway down that are some drilled and grooved disks

^^^That has some drilled and slotted options.

Hope that helps you :)

i,ve got the 257 vented discs its the calipers i,m trying to sort out?

what disks you got?

most of us use punto gt/bravo 1.8 disks and calipers

looks like the hgt has diffrent part number to them

red dot discs fit fine its the caliper that dose not fit.
so i take it the hgt calipers are no good, can anyone tell me will mk2 front wheel hub fit a mk1?

what i shouldve said is that the holes dont marry up 4 fitting & are larger
so iwas wondering about the hub swap if poss, this would save me sourcing
more calipers & pads, but this looks unlikely:bang:

Mk1 GT front discs are vented....and they are 257mm....so the calipers will defo fit the discs. The calipers of a mk1 GT should be an easier fit that off a mk2 HGT I'd imagine.

caliper bolts to PILLAR not hub, and i dunno if the hgt one fits a mk1

yeh, sorry ur right its just i thought wrongly that its all one part if u know what imean & u would know if this poss with a mk2 part[that sounds ******** but i hope u know what imean] basicly i really dont want 2 refurbish more calipers & buy more pads. itake it a mk1&2 pillars are different:confused:

sorry 4 any confusing ihope u can make sense of this:bang:

Your question is, do you try to use the HGT, or source mk1 calipers to suit the vented disks?

The answer is buy/source some mk1 gt type calipers (dave has the list). TBH you should have done a trial fit before you spent loadsa money. But thats easy to say in hindsight:eek:

thanks for all ur help guys, idid rabble on and sound abit vauge, but iwas
pleased with the results of the refurbished calipers, spose, i got a bit carried away with what i was thinking:D anyway plan B now .
hey if it was too easy life would be boring(y)
