Ive just got a Punto S60 and am figuring out how things work I tried filling the windscreen washer fluid a couple of times but it seems to be draining out in a couple of hours.

I can see a small round cylinder (smaller than a 5p coin) close to where the pipe from the windscreen washer reservoir comes out.... and thats leaking. I was told by a mechanic that thats a pressure valve but i doubt thats true. Whats it and why is it leaking.

Any easy way to check if the tank itself is leaking (since its not easily accessible)?

I have fluid leaking out of their when i use the rear washer as well so im confused=.

That small cylinder should have a little arrow on it? It is a one-way valve and thats almost certainly what the problem is. Seems like lots of mk1s have this problem, mine had it too. Just buy a new one from halfords mate. Don't go through the hassle of checking the tank because it's probably the valve and the tank is an absolute MISSION to get out.

If i remember mine was about £1.50 from Fiat

They seem to leak on most punto's at some point...cost very little to replace it

Ive had my punto 75SX 3 weeks, and It leaks on mine, yet It only started leaking a week ago, guess it is a common problem.
