Hi guys, wondering if you can help me. I seem to be getting this teriblle graunching noise as i pull off from standing coming from underneath the car, its mainly just when the clutch starts to bite but i dont think its anything to do with the clutch becuase its ok once im traveling (changing 2dn to 3rd etc) as well as the graunching noise (which sounds like a kind of stress noise) i can also sometimes here almost banging under the car. I have searched but can not work out where the noise is coming from, but it seems to be in the middle (around where the gearbox stablizer is), Some of the rubber busher on the anti-roll bar are looking a bit worn but i can just not be sure it is this as you have to be driving rthe car to hear the noises.

Its also funny how this noise only appeared after i had a new gearbox fitted but the cowboys who did it say its nothing to do with them.

Like a say its a stress/graunching/ banging noise.

it also seems when the car is cold, ie in the morning, its not as bad, but when i get stuck in traffic etc it gets worse.

No doesnt really affect the handleing or anything else?

could be the gearbox mount
