hey all, really stuck on this, fitted a towbar on the car myself a while back but haven't been able to use it yet because of the electrics, i've just bought a pre wired electrics kit..

the only instructions are the which wires join what, no idea what to connect them to or where to find the wires i need, i'm too scared to go cutting the first wires i find  anyone know where i can find these wires?? thanks all!

fraid can't really help as every kit is different. but you basically want to tap into the wires that do your rear lights, keep it simple do it on only one side of the car.

punto rear lights will be a plastic connector block with all the power going down little metal tracts to the bulbs, 5mins looking and you'll figure out what does what, OR look at the back of your haynes manual and see what colour does what (but double check with what you have infront of you, as haynes are not always right for everymodel/year)

not sure on a mk2b, but on a 2a, the wires for each lighting cluster run seperatly down each side of the boot.

and the stuff on the tailgate come from the passenger side, so to avoid confusion with any of them, you maybe want to get into the wiring on the RH drivers side of the boot. they'll be lighting, speakers wires in there.

Hi Alex,

I guess I'm about a week behind you as I fitted a towbar to my 2004 1.2 8v Punto today. I've got the cable from the towbar into the car, but thats it so far for the wiring.

I know what each of the wires on the 7-pin connector carries, and I also have the wiring diagram for the audible relay buzzer (5 wires) which came with the second hand kit. BUT - I have no idea about the wiring colours from the rear light clusters and I haven't been able to find anything on the web. Did you get this sorted??

Thanks for any advice,

Dave

Ok, thanks for replying. I think I'll have a go at it this weekend so I'll let you know how I get on. Cheers, Dave
