Hi All.

I might not be the first, but today I had a letter from FIAT saying that I should have the ECU on my 02 reg. 1.2 8 valve PUNTO inspected as there was a batch of dodgy ones fitted to some cars which could become faulty over time and affect the performance.The engine fault warning lamp could also come on.

I've had the headlight changed, the wiper motor changed, the handbrake sorted for squeaks and now this! Is there no end to the design and other faults on this motor? |)

They have the cheek to say it is FREE...they should be paying us for the inconvenience eh?..FAT CHANCE.

you get what u pay for......do u expect it to have german build quality?
I had the same letter but mine did actually break down and i had a new ecu fitted

i have a 53 reg punto and im having no end of peoblem looks like problem you have had on yours im getting as well only had mine 6 months im sorting compensation out with mine. if i was you id try and get some for the inconvinence and the trouble you have had with it in the past. is it still under warrenty?

Sounds like a great idea PG....did you contact FIAT direct with the claim or through your dealer?..it's still under warranty yes![^]
