cheers Ady

Sounds like you've been done, did he say how many miles its done or did he just say what the clocks mileage is reading? If he quoted the mileage on the new clocks he's broken the law.

I don't think iv'e been done he showed me the old mot's, he did put the correct mileage on the clock but it's flashing plz help

Not yet i was a little scared as i don't have the red key, do i need it if it re sets ?????????????
Cheers
Ady

No you wont need your red key to reset the ecu, did the car come with a red key? I know all the MK1s had them, some earlier models of the MK2 had it also since yours is a 2000 it might have came with one, mines a 2001 and my car never came with one. Theres away of telling if yours came with a red key something to do with the sign on the blue key i forget though someone should know.

The code key explanation and diagrams found on the key are in the cento stickies.

Get it too a dealer and pay the £35. They should be able to read the real mileage from the ECU I think and stop it flashing. There may be a genuine reason why it was replaced...lets hope at least!
