Have swapped a 1368cc 16v from a late mk2 Punto into my classic Panda.
If you do not have specific knowledge of the engine, assume 1242 16v as basically the same in operation. How does the fuel pressure regualtion work on these cars. Obviously the fuel rail is returnless, so assume regulator is in the pump assembly. Below is a picture of the assembly. Can someone explain to me what each bit does for me and the masses! I have obviously removed the pump and fuel level sender in this pic as I'm pretty sure I know what it going on with them! Why is the earth of the fuel pump connector bunny hopped onto a valve at the top of the tall cylinder (possibly the regualtor itself), for example?

Currently, I have the pump mounted in my original Panda assembly and it just goes straight to the rail. Certainly works, but haven't actually driven anywhere yet. Possibly 5bar over pressure at the moment concerns me.
