Any one know how you get the steering rack out of a 1.3 diesel ? I have unbolted it but can’t get it to slid out there isn’t enough gap

you are probably going to have to lower the subframe a bit to get it to come out

No experience of this myself, but eLearn suggests disconnecting the gearbox lower engine mount and jacking under the gearbox -

The Haynes manual - which only covers petrol models - has the same procedure. After unbolting the rear mount from the subframe ... use a jack under the engine/transmission to move it forward a little ... then, with an assistant's help, move the steering rack forwards.
