Hello everyone,

There's loads of oil in and around my throttle body. Any ideas what's causing this? Could it be that that someone's decided to pour some oil in there to solve fix of past issue?

I don't have an idle issue or sticking throttle so shall I leave it as it is or clean it out?

I only noticed today at the 75,000 mile service (bought the car at 69,000).

Thanks

That's the way the pcv system functions; it allows oil fumes to be burned in the engine!

No issue there, just give it a little carb cleaner. Let the fumes dry before starting the car, otherwise it'll be a long start. Throttle body can also be removed for cleaning, but as it hasn't got a problem there, then let it be.

Throttle body icing is probably not an issue in the UK anyway, so it doesn't need to be clean.
