Thought I’d share this with you all in case anyone is interested in one! I had this 3D printed for me along with the addition of a cheap simple car phone holder from ebay and it’s a perfect substitute to the terrible chunky fiat phone holder that’s £80+. It was £18 in total and is just as sturdy. If anyone is interested in one I’d be happy to point you in the right direction. IMG_3537.JPG
 
What type of plastic was it made from, many 3D prints are made which PLA which will melt at a lower melting point that plastics used in cars so be aware that if it is PLA then it might start to bend and sag if left in a hot car on a hot day.

That said you can also get ABS filaments which require a slightly different process for printing but is the same material as the rest of the plastics in the car

It’s made from PLA+ but it has 100% infill so no chance of sag. It’s very sturdy. There’s a few options out there like PETG but PLA is more environmentally friendly and cheaper. It’s barely in direct sun and it’s in the glove box when not in use. Been using it for a few days and seems to be spot on. Held together with 3 x M4 screws. The spring in the mechanism is just out of a ball point pen. RenderedImage.JPG
