Hi

My rear side lights will not turn off, not sure where to start on this one although i do have to disconnect the battery at work and at home at end of every trip. I've checked the wiring on the Boot hatch and it looks like the wires have been bodged at some point, but then i was told the wiring for the lights doesn't come through the boot anyways apart from top brake light.

Any idea on what i could try would be greatly appreciated.

LEDs..??

Do the bulb segments work normally..

Just the LED tail lights proving bad?

It could be something as simple as a stuck relay.

I’d still sort out the wiring for the boot first, there obviously is wiring into the boot for the 3rd brake light so it’s possible this could be feeding some current back some way to the tail lights, if something was shorting.

I’d check the relays by pulling them and seeing which one kills the lights when it’s removed.

Swap it with another identical relay and see if the lights then switch normally.

Hi Andy,

We've taken all of the fuses out in fuse under the bonnet if that's what you mean, unfortunately for me the lights stay on no matter what we take out. I have a little bit of general knowledge on cars and that was first thing i had done.
