Can anyone recommend the best way to replace brake fluid? Mine could do with some new fluid or best to take to a garage?

2010, think it’s more the front discs, I bought one of these brake fluid checkers and it’s coming up that I should change the fluid

The DOT4 fluid Absorbs Water.

This moisture is BAD in 2 ways:

Tends to make the steel ..and alloy.. parts corrode.. the corrosion makes a rough surface.. which damages the rubber seals :(

The other issue.. in periods of Heavy ..Prolonged ..braking

The systems work REALLY hard..generating LOTS of heat.. this heat can heat the fluid enough that the water ' boils' and will tesult in loss of braking pressure.

Not ideal 2/3 down a mountain.

At 9 years old.. the fluid will be in a poor state.

Get all the parts together.. spray awkward fittings for a few days before doing the job.. so it has the best chance of things unscrewing.. rather than shearing.

Okay thank you for the info, do you think I should just take to a garage? Think it’s about £40 at my local Halfords, sometimes don’t trust my patience lol
