Hi

I am picking up a Punto Evo 60 plate tomorrow and on the test drive, I realised that the headlight symbol (green) on the dashboard was always on when the ignition was on. Is this the daytime running lights? I could obviously ask the dealer but I have some time on my hands tonight so thought I'd ask here

Cheers

Hi. :)
FIAT cars have historically had headlights that are switched via the stalk..

BUT.. the ignition switch cuts their power.;)

So it is quite possibe they were already switched on.. when you put the key in the ignition.

DRLs.. on with the ignition too.
But no telltale lamp. ;)

FYI. A YELLOW bulb system means a fault in the lighting circuit

Charlie.

Thanks for your reply

The indicator stalk controls for the headlights even when switched off left the green light on the dash indicating the headlights were still on (or is this green light for the DRLs as well, I don't know..)

There was no yellow bulb. The car is going in for an MOT tomorrow so if there is a problem with the headlights being constantly on will this result in failure?

Charlie

Thank you for your help anyhow, I will just wait and see tomorrow I did mention it to the salesman anyway so hopefully they'll get it sorted for me picking the car up. My grande punto doesn't do this either but it doesn't have DRLs so I wouldn't know

All the best
