General 2013 Fiat Punto

Good day, Guys


I am fairly new to this site so please bare with me.


I have recently purchased a 2013 Fiat Punto 1.4 easy (collection of the car will be Saturday) and frankly I am quite excited.


I have found out from a few people that these cars are quite reliable however I would like some more info regarding this.


How Reliable is this car?
What are common issues that could go wrong?

Hand brake cables seize and give poor hand brake performance on older models. But cheap to replace.

As this model had been in production since 2005 and been updated twice in that time, many of the problems found on the older cars are sorted on newer models.

The 1.4 8v might be a bit lacking in power but its pretty bomb proof if serviced regularly and if service items like belts and filters are replaced as required.

Reliability depends mainly on the engine type in the car and the previous owner and if it was maintained well, as said above.
And as a new owner if kept topped up with correct grade oils etc,and serviced & maintained regularly should'nt give you any troubles.
