So my DRL’s are the toshiba ones that are factory fitted to the car (I think), and are a horrible yellow colour.

I bought some replacement bulbs from eBay, the blue xenon ones that emit a brighter whiter light (they are amazing). The only thing is, is the original bulbs are single filament, whereas the new ones are dual filament. I cannot find any single filament DRL’s online, and as the light socket is only for single filament bulbs, only one of the filaments is lit up when the new dual filament bulb is put in.

I have now bent the wires on the bottom of the new bulbs so that now when they are in the car, both filaments are lit up, making them brighter.

Is this okay, or am I risking melting the plastic?

Thanks.

Can’t stand yellow looking light, LED’s are great for white light but the CANBUS system is hard to get around and in the process of this I dropped a flipping led bulb in the headlight didn’t I [emoji849] what a nightmare. And to top it off it was in the right one where you have the fuse box and everything else in the way. About 3H later and a trip to the DIY I got it out with a bendy grabber.

I’m going to get a single filament whiter bulb soon and use that as I don’t want it to melt stuff and damage wires. I have to say it’s been okay for the time being, but I’m not risking it any longer.

Thanks Andy [emoji1360]
