Technical Headlight switch

Hi folks.
I've posted this under GP as it may appeal to more people.
I've a fiorino that has the same part number indicator/wiper stalk assembly as the GP, I'm having an issue with the head light switch, when set to off the lightest touch flashes headlights on (not flash of main beam) briefly the headlamps flash and internal lights (clocks ect) do too, when switch is moved to side light and head light all is fine, I've had a play and its definitely the switch on the end of the stalk that's to blame but I cant seem to get at it to try the contact spray trick nor do I want to force it off and potentially break it completely.
The switch itself feels perfectly normal just this weird issue, also, I think its inevitable I'm going to have to change the stalk, my fiorino is a 2012, do new stalks need pairing onto the car?

Unfortunately no, I have seen a second hand stalk, wonder if I replaced just the stalk, the module itself would still work as before

Worth a try. Where are you based.. plenty of us have the software now.

Managed to pick up a stalk for a tenner, worth the risk I reckon, as for need for programming, I'm in wolverhampton and would sooner grace the palm of a forum member than the main dealer

Typically the stalk has only just started playing up and MOT is the end of the month
