Hi all. A newbie to this forum and after some advice/help. My blower fan for heater system has decided to only work intermittently and slowly and noisy if it does. After researching a bit I have done the following. Removed the connections and checked for damage/melting. All ok. Removed the blower, cleaned out 2 leaves. Spins ok but unsure how much it should spin before stopping. Checked inside looks kinda ok but 2 brakes/bushes?? just touching the shaft. Refitted as it was but no better. The main things I’ve noticed are, if it doesn’t work at all and I give a tap with my hand it starts but noisy and slow. Also I’ve noticed as I switch between settings I am getting flashes of light. I’m guessing electrical, which I’m taking is not a good sign.

It must be a bad coincidence but just had some work done on the engine, I’m sure it can’t be related. Just had the unit on top of engine replaced that houses the hydraulic valve lifters(I think that what it was).

Anyway you lovely helpful people, I will await some hopefully helpful and valuable advice

pull blower and connect it directly to battery and check if it spins normaly
watch out for fingers
