Change engine oil error

Hello guys

I bought my car (Fiat Punto Evo 2010 multijet 1.3 diesel 62kw) 1,5 years ago. The mileage was about 122 000 km or smth.
Since the 62 kw was a bit sad and I was afraid of DPF filter caused problems in future i got it removed and engine chiped to 80kw. I had no problems for 1,5 years. Changed oil twice in this time (130 000 and 140 000) and when the service interval (30 000) got full turned on the oil indicator and appared the message "change engile oil". Since it was time for regular maintanance i brought it to service.
They did the maintanance but weren't able to make the message "change engine oil" and red indicator light dissapare. They asked if the DPF filter is removed and claimed that it might be the reason they can't reset it/make the warnings dissapare.
The guy who chiped the engine and turbo and removed DPF said he didn't touch anything service related, tried to remove the warning but weren't able to with his universal tool and program.

http://www.gendan.co.uk/article_6.ht...punto_evo_2010
suggests to use MultiECUScan Diagnostic Package for service reset.

btw car works perfectly fine just will have problems in regular check next year :/

Any ideas? I really don't want to buy the new filter and go back on 62 kw.

As your link suggests, MES is the way to go.

You need to sort this soon. There have been stories on here where service reset has been ignored and ECU has shut down into limp mode, then costing lots of money for a dealer to reset.

MES will tell it service is done, all is then happy. Dealer will make a fuss if DPF not there.

MES €50, plus the cables and ELM interface. Bargain.

A suitable lead is
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/271275445368 (£15) I've used this seller
You also need adaptor 3 (yellow) such as http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/152487652423? to do the service reset. However in this case it may be the engine ECU oil change counter that needs to be reset. This is only on the DPF models and is a separate function to the service interval reset.

Well.. I found a guy with software but he didn't manage to fix it.
As u said in this case might be the engine ECU oil change counter that needs to be reset. So, is it actually possible that the problem is associated with DPF filter software somehow after all and since the DPF and that part of software is remaped the computer doesn't access to this part of software and I can't reset it in this condition?
If it is so, the only option is to remap the software to factory conditions and reinstall the dpf filter?
Or maybe there are any other options (i noticed that there are many tuning parts available on ebay, maybe installing some of these instead could help?)
Any optional ideas?
Don't want the LIMP mode but i really need it for daily use

Re: Change engine oil error

MES doesn't connect to engine modules for some reason (probably the reason is that these are over written by the guy who removed DPF). Yet no problem with the other modules.

Yet there might be another option..

MES, Service, Set number of service coupons module says: "This function allows you to set the number of service coupons. It is set to 9 at factory, and the number decreases at each Service Interval Reset. When the number of service coupons reaches 0 the "Service due" functionality on the dashboard is disabled.
You can enable the "Service due" functionality again by setting a value greater than 0.
You can disable the "Service due" functionality by setting a value of 0."

Do you guys think it could work out if I change the Service due to 0? In this case the light should stop blinking and the information from display should dissapare, since the functionality should be disabled by that? Or am I wrong in here? Could that change have any other consequences?

Or what if I change the service interval value to lot higher like 100 000 or smth?

I'm a bit afraid to mess with the ECU since I have no previous experience.

There is no harm in changing the service coupons to zero, but I don't think it will help. You need to reset the oil degradation setting in the engine ECU. As said before this is different to the service reset (which is in the body ECU) Normally the engine ECU is the easiest ECU to connect to. With MES and an ELM interface you should NOT use the yellow adaptor to talk to the engine ECU. If you were using the yellow adaptor before, try without it and see if you can connect to the engine ECU. If not you need to talk to whoever "chipped" the ECU to find out what they did and why it won't work.

Re: Change engine oil error

The way it got done:
Installed Multiecuscan registered 3.0 or smth

The operation I did:
Fiat Punto Evo 1.3 Multijet 16V — Control module: Marelli 8DF CF5/EOBD Diesel Injection (1.3) — System: Engine — Connect — Adjustments — Reset self-learnt functions — Execute. Key off for 40 sec and done.
The comment/help window doesn’t explain that this option also resets the engine oil counter yet it did.

There is also an option “oil change (only for version with DPF)” I expected that to be the key to success and I executed this option but the warning light didn't dissapare.

It was my first time operating in ECU and I'm really noob in this but maybe this knowledge will help someone other noob in the future.
Ty for support to everyone who found time to replay 😊

Re: Change engine oil error

Multiecuscan is amazing and you can try it for free which is more amazing. Don't spoil it for others by giving criminals your money for illegal versions.

If we don't pay for MES, it will cease to exist. Then we're all in the poo.
