Can anyone throw any light on how the air recirculation switches over. My daughters 2011 Evo mists up like crazy. Compared to my 500, nothing changes when using the recycled air switch.
I think its stuck in recycle mode, hence the misting. I would like to check the operation without stripping the dash.
Any help or pointers appreciated.
Thanks Rohan

I don't know whether this will be of help ... but assuming that it's basically the same as the Grande Punto, this wiring schematic shows the recirculation switch (H080) operating a motor (N082) via a fuse (F24) and a relay (T6). The switch has two positions which send current to the motor in opposite directions - presumably to open/close a flap to the outside. When I operate the recirculation button in my Grande Punto I hear the motor operate for a few seconds and the sound of the air flow changes. I guess you're not hearing that in your daughter's car?

To begin with you could check the fuse and relay. The layout and numbering of the Evo fuse box will be different to the one in the diagram but your handbook may list which they are - or maybe someone else on here knows?

Have you eliminated the possibility that the moisture might be due to water getting into the car - is there any sign of damp in the footwell or on the carpets?

Thanks for detailed reply, at least I have a good start point. No you're right I can't hear anything switching over.I don't think it's a damp issue, carpets were dry when I changed cabin filter. I will post if I have a success.

Hi Guys,

I'm newbie here, my APE has same issue of the air recirculation solenoid, the flag seems stuck in open position, and never have motor sound while press the switch on/off. I failed to reach the flap from outside of the car with the scuttle panel off (take a look attached pic). Anyone know where and which fuse or relay are controlling the solenoid?

Im not going to change the solenoid if it is malfunction, I just want close the flag manually, anyone can help?

Regards
Patrick
