My first car is a 1.4(8v) Fiat Grande Punto Evo and it is a little slow.

I want to upgrade to either a turbo or supercharger. Are there any kits or a particular turbo to choose without upgrading the internals if possible as i am on a budget.

Also i need to upgrade the rear breaks from drums to discs. Has anyone done this and is it an easy job?

thanks in advance

Malcolm

You'd have to upgrade some bits along the way if you plan on chucking a turbo under the hood. Better brakes, a fiddle with the ECU, much better tyres to deal with the sudden boost in acceleration and possibly a tweak to the gearing among other things.

It would be cheaper (and safer) to save up and get a T-Jet or Abarth for some turbo fun ?

Hi,
If you need any help with insurance at all for this type of conversion then please feel free to drop me a line. I'd be only too pleased to try and help.
Regards,
Dan.

As already mentioned above. It's not just bolt on turbo and boost! (if only) I have run both these through my head for my little 1.2 8v. Answer is always the same. Turbo is expensive as fook but can be done with good gains. Super charger is cheaper but less gains better off saving for a 1.4 multi air or abarth 1.4 from eBay and finding an ecu and wiring loom. Or save for an abarth model. However Supercharging has always seemed cooler! ?

Also I am actually insured with Adrian Flux ☝☝☝ that's well weird... but very good for modified cars. Free plug there for you guys. Can I have a free months insurance maybe? ?
