Hi all

I drive a 2010 Fiat punto evo dynamique 1.4 and used to be able to get 40-45 mpg when i first brought it 3 years ago. over the past year or so the fuel economy has been getting worse and when i checked it today i am averaging 32MPG . Does anyone know of anything i can check or cheap replace to try and improve this . I have personally changed the spark plugs during this period and nothing has changed

A choked air filter can have the same effect.
take it out and see how grubby it looks.the engine:intake side should still be VERY clean..any oily marks are BAD

What's the mileage ?
Does it have any stored errors?
Is the engine temperature stable?
Does it warm up in 2-3 minutes after first staring up from cold? ( is the thermostat working correctly)
I would suggest replacing the front O2 sensor. Shop around and buy a good quality Bosch sensor.

I've replaced mine on my Bravo, recently and saw a big improvement. 10-15 % better mpg.
I payed about 50 euros.
Mine was still working ok ( made a graph of it going high and low) .. but it was slower to respond. And the car has 180k km (110k miles)

any starting problems?
