Hi all
I'm currently running a 2009 Grande Punto GP 1.4 16v and I'm looking to change to an Evo Sporting Multiair turbo for a bit more poke!
It's a 2010 with 60k and full leather. Looks like full history and cam belt been done last year.
Other than the normal Punto problem areas is there anything else I need to be aware of?
I've heard some horror stories about the Multiair system but they can't all be bad can they?
Any help and advice muchly appreciated and hopefully if I get one it'll be at Forza!

Surely somebody must have some info on these?! Going to look tomorrow but it's about an hour away and won't go if it's gonna be a bad move!

multiair, is a @£5500 unit - if it fails,

oil quality is supposed to be the deciding factor, ;)
so a FSH on Selenia is as god as a guarantee , in the circumstances,

my 2 cylinder "twinair" is the same..so I'm being fussy..:D

Thanks for the reply-you've just confirmed what I had already thought.
I'm sure that a "good" one will be OK but its just trying to find one!

Not sure if this ones got full fiat history or not or if a service has been missed etc.
Not going to take a chance on it and think I might give the newer turbo's a swerve then!!
Might have to look for a decent earlier T-jet instead or even keep my current GP as its a nice car!
thanx

Mines at 39.2K I've had next to no issues. Had a coil pack fail that's about it really, you'd know if the multiair was no good it misfires like ****, plenty of examples on YouTube. However I've known multiairs go past 100K no issue so long as the car gets regular oil changes it should be fine.

Didn't go and look at the car-history wasn't complete and they couldn't confirm all service's.
Still going to keep an eye out though and if a nice one comes up locally I'm sure I'd be tempted to go and have a look!
Thanks for the replies

I'm currently torn between a 1.4 Sporting, and a 1.3 GP Diesel (75) I'm glad I've read this post as I were about to ask the same questions. It is a little off putting to read that the Multi-air engine can be problematic. There really aren't many of these for sale so finding a low mileage, well serviced one seems to be mission impossible! There is one around 60 miles from me that I do like the look of. 2011, 21,000 miles for £5200.
