Hello all.

Has anyone had the cambelt changed yet on their punto evo sporting?

I've been quoted £389 including basic service and water pump change at a a franchised fiat dealer.

Does this sound on the money or expensive?

Any help appreciated.

Located in South Wales so recommendations welcome.

From what I understand the multiair needs a special locking tool so a fiat specialist/ dealer is a must for this job?

Did mine two weeks ago - for comparison, roughly, bought the tool kit (crankshaft holder, camshaft holder, tensioner lever) £75, timing kit (belt, tensioner & water pump) £63.47, aux belt £12. With the tools, torque values and time, it's a safe job.

Hi there,

Your quote doesn't sound terrible, but I suppose it all depends on what the "basic service" entails.

In South Wales you are quite lucky as there are a number of options for official Fiat servicing. Used to live in Cardiff and we used Griffin Mill near Pontypridd. Always very good service for a main dealer.

I think J&J Motors near Bridgend have had some recent praise too. See pages 3 and 4 of this thread:

So I would give both of them a ring first and see what they say.
