Technical 1.4 multiair - cooling fan kicking in at idle

Hi guys.

My 1.4 multiair has what may be an issue. Can anyone else with this car tell me if it's normal for the cooling fan to kick in quite quickly at idle? It kicks in every 20 seconds for a few seconds at a time at idle, when when ambient temp are single digits.

No issues with overheating and temp gauge goes to halfway and stays there. However my coolant level has dropped ever so slightly.

Any experiences?

I was getting something similar, but when this started mine overheated 3 days later, turned out my pipes had an air lock. Could be something completely different though.

Car has never overheated, even stop start around a safari park, stays head central.

Perhaps I'm worrying over nothing?

I suppose the fan is there to do a job and it's doing it.

Air con on? Fan also kicks in to drag air through the inter cooler I think.
