I have a punto evo sporting. So far I have a full turbo back exhaust with 200 cell sport cat. A forge fmic and induction kit. Next step is a remap. I keep reading that the gearbox is a weak point and won't take to kindly to the extra torque. Has anyone with a remap had any gearbox or clutch related problems?

Your gearbox and clutch will be fine belonging you don drive it like you've stole it! By this I mean thrashing it from standing starts and red lining it in every gear.
I would recommend changing the gearbox oil as it's probably not be changed, I had mine done and it felt better.
Your gains will be around 165 - 170 bhp and 180 - 200lb/ft.
I've not had any problems and also know of others who haven't.
Depending on the year of your car the multiair unit is a weak part. The earlier models had issues and Fiat changed the unit twice and rectified the fault. Have a search on here or on net about multiair failure.

Thanks for your reply. I will definitely have the gearbox oil changed before the remap and my car is a 10 plate but the multi air system was replaced last April due to failure which may have been due to Arnold Clark vauxhall servicing the car with the wrong oil then me doing 5000 miles with it.

How much of a difference did you feel in power and torque after the remap? I don't red line the engine but do plan on a few drag strip days a year. I just remembered that my oil was also changed last April aswel as the gearbox had to be taken out as I also had a broken piston ring along with multi air unit failure
