Just bought a late 09 Punto Evo 1.4 Sporting with just 15k on the clock from a garage and I noticed that the Fiat logo etched into the glass (near the Pilkington Glass info) dosn't match the rest of the windows which have the older Fiat logo (from the mid to late 90's) on them. The tail gate glass has the current Fiat logo on it plus what appears to be a security serial number (that all Fiats used to have) which the rest of the windows dosn't have. I did an HPI check on the car and every thing was clear but I do know that sometimes that can't be 100% true.

The colour of the tailgate seems to match and there dosn't appear to be any signs of a repair so maybe I'm being a tad paranoid about it.

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Glass broken at some point and a replacement obtained from a newer scrapped car perhaps?

Have a look in the spare wheel gully to see it there are signs of glass...

Or, the rest of the glass has been broken or damaged in some what and has been replaced from an older Grande Punto...

Thanks for the reply.

No sign of any broken glass and I would find it strange that all the other windows would of been changed tbh. There isn't any obvious reason why that should of happened. But equally it's odd that all the glass bears the old 5-square "Fiat" logo which disappeared when the Punto MK2 was discontinued. I think what is more likely is that the tail gate has been replaced at some point... i've noticed that the paint "seals" have been rubbed off the bolts on the hinges.

Cant detect any other signs of damage though (i.e. evidence of a rear end shunt).
