Technical Centre consol USB port - what current can it supply?

Hi, on a Punto Evo 2010 1.4 dynamic.

The USB port on the centre in front of the gear lever, does anyone know what current this can supply?

The 'standard' for USB is 0.5A. As this is intended as an input to the stereo system, it is unlikely to be more. This will power devices such as satnav, but will not provide enough power to charge it. It is unlikely to charge your phone.

If you need more than 0.5A, you'll need a USB adaptor for the 12v socket.

Charges my iPhone 6 just fine, albeit not quick.
Just need a decent, original Apple cable.
Only time it doesn't manage is using a satnav like Waze during the day. The screen brighter is set higher and the drain is greater than supply, however the 500mah means battery drain is slower.

I'm thinking of my Nexus 7 - it takes a lot more than a phone when I'm using sat nav.
