Just thought that I could help clear a few things up for anyone in the same/similar position to me.

I bought a Punto Evo 1.2 MyLife last year in August, I was 17 then so with the RAC my insurance as a driver on a provisional license cost me £1200. However they let me build up no claims while I was on the provisional. A month ago I passed my test and my insurance now costs about double that but only until August when my year of no claims kicks in, so for the whole year it's probably only about £2000. And for a new driver I think that is pretty good.

I have recently started modifying my car and though you may think my insurance would have increased a lot with:

Calibre motion 2 black alloys
Limo black window tints
Lowered 35mm (told insurance not put on car yet)

So far it has only cost me a £25 administration fee for the guy at RAC to change the documents.

I hope this helps any new drivers on the forums :)

That's really good. My insurance is up soon, and I'd never thought of RAC so will need to look into them. Especially as I'm gonna get some wheels and lower the thing. Aviva were good - they seem to ask whether it's a performance part you've added (so my spoiler on my little Fiat is obviously not, and didn't cost me a penny!)
