Morning all

Last night I got off my train jumped in the car started all fine drove a 100 yards then the two engine managment lights came on and the engine went really juddery and the accelarator stop working when depressed so going into limp mode.

Anyway called my green flag they came out and read the codes he said it's the air flow meter.

However I have one of the multiair versions (1.4 16v 105) after looking on the internet I can not find any mass air flow meters listed anywhere is this a dealer part only or is it the dreaded multiair unit. As I do keep finding is the dreaded multiair system failiure and the symptoms being very similar to mine.
Any advise would be great.

Cheers

Mass air flow meter apparently but according to my dealer it don't have one have it booked in with MVC in sale on Friday so should find out then however it should be covered by my extended warrenty

Right, you don't have mass air flow meter, it seems new engines don't have this anymore (they was expensive and not so reliable).

But sometimes diagnostics tools confuse with MAF and MAP.

Okay, keep us informed ;)

Hey

Well and update just had a call from the garage and its a split pipe on the intake so its knocking the hole sytem out of sync and thats causing all the issues.

So good news only a £90 repair this includes the investigation and re-seting of the engine lights etc.

Don't know weather its worth claiming off my extended warranty as have £50 excess anyway, but then again £40 back is £40 back.
