On my resistors there was a rubber rib, so you just pushed it into place and it held properly. Might need some inginurity to make them fit, but shouldn't be too difficult.

ah ok. I got given these resistors with the front sidelights that might be better, seems they are a little complicated though... is soldering required? have a look

Yes you'll need to solder or skotch lock them into place. I'd bin them and use the inline ones for ease and reversibility.

Re: Canbus error reg plate light

Has anyone replaced their reversing light bulb to a brighter one? I feel sometimes I cant see a damn thing when reversing... and that light is there to warn people as well as provide us with some lighting at night :/

got my resistors, no rubber rib or any secure mounting at all really :/ I suppose its ok for the number plate where gravity will keep the LED in the plastic housing.. however as for my parking lights it just sits in the "tunnel".. whereas the original fiat fitment clicks into place... luckily i only ordered one pair so ill try and find some with rubber fitments.

The fitment for the number plate bulb is basically a turn and lock mechanism... im guessing thats the same as your bravo?

Also I cant really see what the resistors are touching, and have been warned they get hot.. any risk to the car? Im guessing they are resting on the inside of the bumper?

Original parking lights fitment (clips in)

Resistor fitment:

Re: Canbus error reg plate light

Rear ones on the Bravo being partly external had a lot of air circulating around them, fronts being in a headlight enclosure which has lots of heat from the bulbs anyway didn't cause me any concern, and didn't have issues over the 24 months I had the car.

For the front might be worth putting some insulation tape around the bulb holder to give it a more snug fit when putting it in place (I can't remember if I had to do this or not), but might be worth improvising

Re: Canbus error reg plate light

Fitted my dad's GP with the osram night breakers. Cant really judge the viewing distance until its pitch black and were on a dark road.. one thing I will say though is that they are not as white as my ones from Ebay which were 15 reduced to 8. Im guessing the 100w also contributes to a whiter light?

Not always the reason behind it, and don't forget 100watt bulbs are illegal to use on the road in the UK and are asking for costly problems later on with the car.

yeh i realised they are illegal... what problems can they present with the car being 100w?

Can cause the wiring to potentially burn out and cause a fire due to the additional loading, and if you're lucky it might only melt the chrome reflection off of the reflector resulting in light output getting worse and eventually having to change the headlamp units

If I remember when I get home I'll post a pick of damage I noticed on a GP headlight reflector at Stanford Hall this year, it wasn't a pretty site.
